RE: Termination Bioassay Noncompliance -Reply
If the exit termination bioassay isn't taken, document that an
attempt was made and the reason why no documented result exists. In
some cases an entrance bioassay can be obtained from the next
facility, if that information is known, and, the facility agrees to
send a copy (with the individual's written permission, of course).
While this isn't 100% confident that the result would be similar to
an exit from your facility, it is better to have an entrance
elsewhere than no record at all.
It is my opinion that if the attempt is made, and no sample can be
obtained, that this is NOT a regulatory noncompliance. In all
probablility, the facility should have enough information, air
samples, surveys etc. to determine if the individual even needed to
be part of a bioassay program in the first place.
