Open Position at NRC
The Emergency Preparedness and Radiation
Protection Branch of NRC's Office of
Nuclear Reactor Regulation has posted an
open position for a design basis accident
dose analyst. The Announcement No. is
9750010, and the position title is Health
Physicist at the GG-14 level in the NRC's
Rockville, Maryland offices. The principal
duties of the position are the assessment of
the radiological consequences of design
basis accidents for power reactors
(calculation of offsite and control room
doses) and the development of review and
calculational techniques to accomplish such
assessments. Therefore, candidates should
have a background in reactor systems,
design basis analysis, and health physics.
Two examples of individuals who might be
appropriately qualified would be (1) a health
physicist with a reactor systems and design
basis analysis background or (2) an
engineer with a background in the nuclear
area and health physics. The NRC will be
accepting applications for this position until
the end of February 1997. Additional
