This information request is being posted for someone who does not have
radsafe access. His name is Dick Twomey.
He would like to know what are the "mechanics" a U.S. manufacturer of x-ray
equipment must go through to sell x-ray equipment in Australia. Also, once
x-ray equipment made in the U.S. arrives in Australia, does the new owner
have to register it in the individual state? Do the regulations on x-ray
equipment vary from state to state? And finally, if the vendor were to
provide the results of a safety survey of the equipment to the buyer, what
qualifications would be needed for the U.S. physicist doing the survey? [CHP
or ABR?]

If someone is willing to be a contact person, Dick Twomey would really
appreciate being able to speak to someone knowledgeable about these issues.
Could a phone number and best contact time be provided? [I believe there
are 12 hours difference between ESTin the U.S. and Sydney time.]

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
