One source of slides showing radiation damage from poor radiological
control practices involving fluoroscopic x-ray equipment is Thomas B.
Shope, Ph.D., FDA/Center for Devices and Radiological Health, 5600
Fishers Lane, Rockville, Maryland 20856, phone 301-443-3314, ext 32 or
Internet: tbs@fdadr.cdrh.fda.gov

For a nominal fee in the past, Dr. Shope has provided sets of 8 slides
along with a brief description of the x-ray procedures involved in serious
radiation injuries to 2 patients. One patient underwent a coronary
angioplasty procedure and the other a transjugular intrahepatic
portosystemic shunt (TIP) procedure.
