call for papers



BIG 10 RSO MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

The Ohio State University will be hosting the 1997 Big Ten RSO meeting.  The
meeting will be held at the University Ramada Inn on September 15-17, 1997.
The meeting will include social events, invited speakers and technical
papers.  A copy of the proceedings will be presented to all who register.  A
vendor exhibit area will be open to all interested parties (including OSU
faculty and staff) regardless of registration status.

Abstracts are requested for technical presentations.  Abstracts should be
limited to 250 words or less and should be sent to:

Abstracts must be received before June 15, 1997 to be considered and
accepted papers must be received prior to August 1, 1997 for inclusion in
the meeting Proceedings.  Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes each.
Future mailings will describe formatting requirements for accepted papers.
Topics of interest are:

LLRW management
Regulatory trends and concerns
Transportation of radioactive materials on- and off-campus
Medical use of radioactive materials in university hospital settings
Veterinary medical use of radioactive materials
Administration and management of campus radiation safety programs

The Ohio Low-Level Radioactive Waste Authority will be presenting
information regarding progress to date and future plans for the Midwest
Compact LLRW facility.  Other planned sessions include a campus RSO
roundtable discussion and a panel of state and federal regulators.
