Flourescent Lights & UV

RADSAFERs,

	Does anyone have any experience with UV emissions from standard
fluorescent light fixtures?

	I just performed a survey of a "new" type of lighting fixture with a
"parabolic lens" where the fluorescent tubes are not covered by a solid
diffuser.

	The results of the survey indicated that some workers would reach the
ACGIH TLV within 3-5 hours of exposure, depending on their location beneath
the fixtures.
I used a recently calibrated SOLAR Light Company Model 6D UV Safety Meter.

	Our facility is in a large phase of refurbishment of older lighting
fixtures and will be installing these in newly remodeled office areas.  HELP..
