DOE Price-Anderson Enforcement Actions



DOE directly links every enforcement action to a violation of one or 
more requirements in 10 CFR 830 or 10 CFR 835.  Each violation is 
described in detail in a Preliminary Notice of Violation that is sent 
to a contractor after an enforcement conference has been conducted.  
The contractor then has the option to either challenge the PNOV or 
accept it.

What was posted on RadSafe looks like excerpts from press releases 
DOE issues after a contractor accepts the findings of a PNOV.  The 
press releases simply highlight the events surrounding a violation 
and tend to be the most visible means of "announcing" a Notice of 
Violation.

DOE's Office of Enforcement and Investigation (EH-10) does, though, 
have a web site that has available each PNOV that has been issued to 
date.  The web site's address is:
