The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), the nation's largest not-for-profit
biomedical research facility, is actively recruiting a Safety Technician.
The individual selected to fill this position will perform routine
radiation-safety related duties such as contamination surveys, radioactive
waste management, incoming package surveys, and radiation instrument
calibrations.  This individual will have some opportunity to participate in
other safety related activities.  

Qualified candidates will have 1-2 years experience in radiation safety or
hazardous waste management and will be capable of lifting 50 pounds on a
routine basis.  Individuals with an associates or bachelors degree in a
physical science are preferred.  In addition to having strong technical
skills the selected individual will have excellent interpersonal skills and
will have a focus toward customer service and satisfaction.
