     CHIRON CORPORATION's mission is to end human suffering caused by 
     disease through the development of products that transform the 
     practice of medicine.  Currently, we seek energetic team players to 
     join our EH&S team in Emeryville.  The selected candidate will be 
     expected to support other EH&S programs and will participate as a full 
     member of the Chiron HAZMAT team, requiring periodic 24-hour, on-call 
     rotations.  PC proficiency (Excel and Word), a strong attention to 
     detail, and excellent interpersonal/communication skills will be 
     required.  Must be able to exercise sound judgement, handle multiple 
     tasks and work effectively in an intense environment.
     
     
     Senior EH&S Technician (Job Code 2621)
     Working under limited supervision of the RSO, you will manage and 
     execute the following core areas of Chiron's radiation safety program: 
     dosimetry, calibration of survey instrumentation, inventory control 
     (sealed source inventory and leak testing, RAM receiving and 
     ship-out), laboratory inspections, training, and maintenance of 
     electronic data and written documentation.  Along with a BS degree in 
     Biological/Physical science, you will need 2 year's relevant radiation 
     safety expereince, including proficiency with radiation instruments 
     plus a knowledge of all applicable standards and federal/state 
     regulations.
