The Department of Health Physics, Biosafety & Environmental Affairs
at Merck Research Laboratories in Rahway, New Jersey seeks a
health physicist with operational experience in a biomedical R&D or
academic setting. The radiation safety program operates under an
NRC Type A Broad Scope Radioactive Materials License.
Specific duties may include: performance of audits to ensure compliance
with NRC regulations and MRL policies; provide technical guidance to
researchers on radiation safety issues (e.g. shielding, detection);
provide
technical assistance to the Radiation Safety Officer; and other duties
associated with a broad scope program.
Qualifications: B.S. or equivalent in Health Physics or related field
with
greater than one year experience in the practice of operational HP.
