Joel,
This is how to search Radsafe - very easily. 
The way to do it is through the WAIS index, which can be accessed via
gopher or the world wide web:

To access the archives, you must have access to either a gopher
or World Wide Web client.

Using Gopher:

1. gopher to romulus.ehs.uiuc.edu
2. choose the Radiation Safety menu choice
3. choose either RADSAFE Mailing List Archive or Indexes to Radiation
Safety Files, then RADSAFE Mailing List Archives

Using the World Wide Web:

1. point your web browser at http://phantom.ehs.uiuc.edu/~rad/
2. choose either the RADSAFE Mailing List Archives link or
the Search the RADSAFE Mailing List Archive link
