Re[2]: Newspaper article on Plutonium



     What statistics are these? I'm not an epidemiologist, but common sense 
     causes me to seriously question a claimed 45% increase in age adjusted 
     male cancer rates, EXCLUDING lung cancer, in ANY country in the last 
     25 or so years. If this is really true, what could possibly cause such 
     a huge increase in cancer incidence in Canada? Sounds like a terribly 
     unhealthy place to live... ;-)  (Sarcasm intended, please don't flame 
     me.)

Based on the Canadian statistics you are wrong.  Between 1969 and 1997 
(estimated), excluding non-melanoma skin cancer and lung cancer there has been 
a 45% increase in cancer incidence for males and an 11% increase for females, 
age adjusted.
