     When general issues like the LNT theory or CHP educational 
     requirements come up and mail traffic goes beyond 10 or 20 messages it 
     might be beneficial for the RADSAFE administrator to serve as a 
     moderator and set up an alternate forum for further discussion of the 
     issue.  Those interested could then jump in with both feet.  
     
     For example, there was a lot of discussion regarding the LNT theory.  
     There might be sufficient energy on that issue to set up a special 
     electronic forum.  Such an electronic forum could perhaps lead to the 
     formation of a National HPS Committee that could make recommendations 
     or take action.
     
     I suggest those who wish to further pursue the issue of educational 
     requirements for CHPs take this issue to the ABHP where something can 
     be done.  This is one issue where we seem to have generated more heat 
     than light and further general bandwidth devoted to this subject 
     appears to no longer be productive.  
     
     I am not suggesting we censor anyone nor am I taking sides on the LNT 
     issue or educational requirements for CHPs.  I just believe the 
     approach I've suggested could transition some issues from general 
     discussion to action (maybe even closure) and reduce general RADSAFE 
     message traffic.
