I should have thought a linac irradiator would be preferable to a
radioisotope. Public concern over the irresponsible disposal of high
activity radioisotopes is certainly justified by past incidents.
At least with an accelarator with energy below the major photoneutron
thresholds, Be excepted, once it is turned off there is no radiation
field.
