I remember a book called "Air Sampling Instruments" with a chapter on 
'Sampling Aerosols by filtration' by Morton Lippmann,Ph.D. 
unfortunately I don't have the entire chapter only a photocopy of a 
couple of tables however I am sure the chapter did have some 
information on what you want. Sorry I am unable to remember any 
further details I made the copies back in my student days before i 
realised how important it is to record these things.
