Why aren't
farmers with livestock sick all the time?

The farmers with the most likelyhood of becoming "contaminated" are dairy
farmers due to the much higher amount of time they spend dealing with the
feces.  In order to keep themselves relatively clean they usually wear rubber
boots, coveralls and gloves.  Almost sounds like Anti-contamination clothing
doesn't it!  They also have to maintain a certain level of cleanliness in the
barns, holding tank areas etc in order to minimize the potential for
contamination of the milk prior to being shipped out for processing.
