Re: Smoke detector disposal

We recently disposed of about 200 Am-241 industrial smoke detectors by
returning them to the manufacturer.  They contain a non-trivial amount of
Am-241 so that collectively there is a lot of radioactive material to throw
into the city landfill.  The manufacturer is Carburize Pyrotronics located in
Florham Park, NJ.
