It is my understanding that TV manufacturers began using leaded glass for
the tubes in the 1970's and xray emissions dropped to unmeasurably small
(if anything) and stayed that way.

Prior to the use of leaded glass, some TV's did have detectable xray
emissions at the front face of the set.
