California and Salt ...

Funny isn't it, but true. By definition table salt is considered a
hazardous waste in California. Our waste group uses NaCl as an example in
it's training to emphasis the broadness of the CA waste regulations.
On an even more interesting note is the fact that salt is one of only four
items that is legal to be thrown from a moving vehicle in the state of
California. (salt, water, chicken feathers, and one other thing I can't
remember) I believe its use would be in de-icing the road.
