Dosimeter Placement -Reply
William, if you are in a uniform dose field the exposure is relative to all
surfaces and wearing the devices between the shoulder and waiston
the front of the body would be appropriate. However, if you believe the
dose is not isotropic then you must established the dose configuration to
the persons position and activities. If the dose is from below the person
then put iton their thigh. One position dosimetric device placement works
most of the time. No one says you are limnited to one dosimeter or one
area of placement. Normally cost and inconvience dictates what you
use to determine an acceptable dose estimate. You may even have to
do a survey to determine the best placement.
