Industrial Hygiene Course by Videotape Delivery




An announcement which may be of interest to many of you.  Georgia Tech will
have Dr. Herman Cember teach an Industrial Hygiene Course for our HP
Program Students during the Spring Quarter (10 Weeks beginning on March 30)
via live a two-way telecommunications hookup from Purdue.  The course will
simultaneously be broadcast live two-way to the Savannah River Ecology
Laboratory at the the Savannah River Site.  In addition, the course will be
available by the videotape delivery mode through our Center for Distance
Learning.

Spring Quarter 1998 - 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. (EST), Wednesday & Thursday

This course will be broadcast by live two-way interactive video from Purdue
University to Savannah River Ecology Laboratory and Georgia Tech.  The
course will also be available by videotape delivery through the Georgia
Tech Center for Distance Learning.  The course is a 3 quarter hour credit
course.

Instructor:  Dr. Herman Cember, Professor Emeritus, Northwestern
University.

REGISTRATION OPTIONS

Students may register for this course under one of the following options:

Registered Graduate Option (RGO):  This option is for students who have
been admitted to a graduate program and are enrolled for regular academic
credit.  These students meet the same admission standards, complete the
same assignments, and take the same examinations as on-campus students. 
Grades earned are recorded and a transcript of work completed becomes a
permanent part of the student's Georgia Tech record.

Professional Development Option (PDO):  This option is for individuals who
are interested only in enrolling in courses for professional development. 
Students enrolled under this option will not receive academic credit for
completion of the course, even if they later apply and are accepted into a
graduate program.  They are not required to hand in homework or take
examinations, although students who complete all course work and
examinations will be given grades.  Grades are sent to the students and, if
requested, to the site coordinators, but will not be placed on a Georgia
Tech transcript.  If requested, a certificate will be issued to students
completing courses in PDO status.

COURSE ENROLLMENT FEES

Video enrollment fees for the 1997-1998 academic year are $297 per quarter
hour course credit.
