Thanks to all those that contributed to the alpha activity steel tower
phenomena. Your ideas and recommendations assisted us in following the
path that led us in the direction of, and final conclusion, that the
alpha activity was the result of Pb210 decay to Po210.
After chemical separations and ion exchanges and a 1000 minute alpha
spec count, a 46 keV peak appeared and Pb210 was identified.
