Re: Hanford Cleanup Strategy

Joe, my musings have struck a nerve with our audience. Hell, at least I am
not suggesting you shoot the stuff to the moon.

Here are some more musings:

I believe it is a national disgrace that we can't bring to bear on the
problems at Hanford our superior technology lick then all.....

What's preventing this, politicans, locals, mangers afraided to make
decisions, bad technical advice, the economic flywheel........

If they are true hazards as you say, then why haven't the nearby populations
been evacuated or the hazards made safe? My thoughts are that they are
relatively safe where they are and only have to be moved somewhere else if
push comes to shove.

I see that liitle headway is made due to one faction wanting the site
returned to a green field and another wanting to just manage it in place.
Its surely not a lack of technology. Ah hell, I forgot about the political
angle to everything dealing with nuclear hazards.

Don't you ever get frustrated at the snail's pace your work is going and the
money being pour on to the ever increasing void with little or no results?

Based on your facts I see that $85 Trillion may not be enough. However,
there is still hope that some new prime contractor will get on the
merry-go-round and come up with a workable answer.

PS: My musings are also sent to our Senators and Representatives (I am not
as nice with them) that seem to be holding up things that are somewhat
important to me and my fellow health physicists.
