Dr. Elizabeth Cardis is the main investigator of a 14 country study of nuclear 
workers.  She may know the answer to your question.  Within the U.S. there is no
requirement to do epidemiologic studies.

Dear Radsafers,
I would like to be enlightened about US regulations regarding to 
epidemiological survey requirement.
Is there any regulatory requirement that the licensee of nuclear facility 
shall (or should) carry out the epidemiological study nearby the facility 
site ?
Is there any other country who set up this kind of regulation ? If yes, 
where I can find it ?
