re: dose sensitivity of ICs

More on the previous discussion of rad sensitivity of computers... The
March 98 issue of the IEEE Spectrum has a nice 6 page (36-41) article on
just this issue.
The WEB site (www.spectrum.ieee.org) just shows the title.

Emphasis is on use on satellites and dose hardness needed for various
orbits. Good discussion on failure acute modes (nonstochastic effects).
No discussion on stochastic effects.

Cited hardness for std commercial ICs is 3-10 krad(Si).
Very readable article.
