Re: One pound of Plutonium -Reply



Those following this thread might read with some interest the HPJ
October 1997 article by Voelz, et al, "Fifty Years of Plutonium
Exposure to the Manhattan Project Plutonium Workers: An Update."

Although this is an admittedly small cohort, the mortality rates are
lower than the "expected" and for 10 in the group with the highest
effective doses (min. 2.4 Sv, max 7.2 Sv), only one within that group
is deceased  -- the one with 7.2 Sv.  This person died of prostate
cancer at 66 years of age.  The surviving high dose group (my
term) range in age from 70 to 86.

And since this study is so small, the results are meaningless....
right?
