Health Physicist/Radiation Safety Officer

Position: St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a radiation safety
officer to manage the hospital's radiation safety program under a NRC broad
scope license, and for ensuring compliance with NRC and State of Missouri
radiation safety requirements.  The RSO will be responsible for the
day-to-day operation of the radiation safety program, including: training of
personnel, performing surveys, maintaining the ALARA program, performing
safety audits, maintaining records required by the NRC and the State of
Missouri, and other requirements of the radiation safety program.  The RSO
will also be responsible for the radiation safety aspects of the research
use of radioactive materials in the Mid America Heart Institute, as well as
other clinical research studies.

Qualifications: Certification by the American Board of Health Physics with a
Master's degree in health physics or a closely-related field preferred.
Five years of experience in a medical radiation safety program, and
knowledge of NRC regulations; experience in managing a NRC broad scope
license is preferred.  The successful candidate will need to have excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
