Various nuclear protessts
Nuclear Protesters Arrested - (OAK RIDGE)-- A dozen peace
protesters have been arrested for trespassing at the Y-12
nuclear weapons plant in Oak Ridge on the 53rd anniversary of the
bombing of Hiroshima. About 100-demonstrators showed
up for the protest yesterday afternoon. Twelve linked arms and
stepped over a boundary set up by the company. No one was
injured.
Nuclear Protest - (GRELLEY) -- Two peace activists are under
arrest in Denver for participating in a nuclear protest in
Greeley. The men entered the launching pad of a Minuteman Three
nuclear missile silo and symbolically disarmed it. They were
protesting the 53rd anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb
on Hiroshima, Japan. The men, from Vermont and New
Jersey, were arrested after their protest. They were questioned by
federal agents and are expected in Denver Federal Court
this morning.
