For you young whippersnappers who were not around when the
rep was in use, rep is the acronym for "roentgen equivalent
physical." It was a (an) unit of dose, defined as
deposition of 93 erg/g in soft tissue--approximately the
dose deposited there from an exposure of 1 R.
