Int. Symposium for Release of Rad. Material
Dear radsafers, this conference announcement may be of some interest for you:
International Symposium for Release of Radioactive Material from Regulatory
Control
8-10 Nov. 1999 in Hamburg, Germany
Due to the worldwide low capacity in final repositories and the rising
numbers of nuclear installations for decommissioning the release of low
radioactive contaminated material from regulatory control has gained more
importance. Therefore, extensive research have been devoted to develop
clearance levels for unrestricted release and authorized use of those
materials. However, the models and methods to derive these activity limits
differ significantly. Different clearance levels have partly been implemented
in recent licenses or national legislation. In order to avoid problems in
international trading of released materials, the harmonisation of clearance
levels is a main future task. Considering this, TUEV Nord, OECD/NEA and the
European Commission have decided to hold an international symposium in
November 1999 in Hamburg, Germany.
The symposium is planned with a capacity for approx. 300 participants.
Conference languages are English and German. Simultaneous Interpretation into
English will be provided. The symposium will consist of oral and poster
presentations selected from submitted abstracts by the Programme Committee.
In addition to the symposium programme a technical exhibition will take place
in the lobby. Proceedings will be available at the beginning of the symposium.
Application and abstracts for papers and posters shall be sent until 15 Feb
99.
If you are interested in submitting a paper and/or poster, or in attending
this symposium, or in participating as an exhibitor, please contact
