Wyeth-Ayerst, a major division of American Home Products Corp
(www.ahp.com/wyeth.htm) is seeking a Radiation Safety Officer
to manage it's radiation safety program at the Monmouth Junction,
NJ and Radnor, PA facilities. Both facilities have NRC Broad Scope B licenses. The MJ facility has 170 authorized users and the Radnor facility has 70 authorized users performing biomedical
research using traditional beta/gamma emitting radioisotopes and
radiation-producing equipment. The RSO supervises two assistants and reports to the Associate Director for Radiation Safety. The RSO is responsible for all aspects of radiation safety
at these two facilities including license preparation, protocol review and approval, training, inventory and waste control, surveys, bioassay, dosimetry, audits, procedure development, database management, and preparing regulatory reports. The
successful candidate shall have at minimum, a Master of Science degree in Health Physics, Radiological Health, or a closely related
field from an accredited university, and at least five years of experience working as an RSO, Assistant RSO or Health Physicist
for a Broad Scope or equivalent license. Certification in Health Physics by the ABHP is strongly desired. Excellent written and oral
communication skills, proficiency in mathematics, computer applications, and analytical techniques required for a small health
