online rad mat training
For those who have been pestering me about when I was going to put rad
materials training online, I finally got it done. Or perhaps more
correctly, I finally managed to get the RSO to look at it and approve
it. Considering that I put his name on it and he is expected to use it
in his "live" seminars, I figured that it would be a good idea to get
his approval. <big grin>

The material is specific to our campus and may not be applicable
elsewhere. As the written disclaimer on the first page says "The
material presented is only meant to supplement, not replace, the
training offered by the principal investigator/supervisor in charge of
each specific laboratory." The material is intended for those who can't
make it to the live seminar or who wish to review the material after
attending the seminar. Attendance at the seminar is voluntary for the
users. We have not yet been forced :-) to make the seminars mandatory.
Oh yes, before anyone asks, I didn't write an online exam for this one
as I did for the x-ray and laser tutorials. I couldn't get a firm
answer from the RSO as to whether he wanted one. I may have been stupid
enough to offer to write the training material, but I'm not about to
volunteer to write an exam without any firm commitment on the part of
"management." Writing a decent exam is hard!
Enjoy!
