RE: WM'99

Found some info on the Waste Management Symposium's 25th conference.

[With three international Plenary speakers WM'99, the premier
international conference on radioactive waste management, celebrates
its 25th anniversary. More than 2000 attendees from universities,
industry and government are concerned with radioactive waste
management and environmental cleanup. The meeting will be held at the
Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona, from Sunday, February 28,
'99 to Thursday, March 4, '99.

Covering the international fronts, England, Japan and an IAEA
Representative from Austria will present their perspectives on the
"Status of Waste Management Over the Past 25 Years" at the WM'99
Plenary Session Monday at 8 am. Neville Chamberlain, Deputy Chairman,
British Nuclear Fuels plc. (UK) promises to deliver a "Silver Lining
for the 25th Anniversary," and Tokyo University's Dr. Atsuyuki Suzuki;
"The Next 25 years --- the First Quarter of the Century for
Environment."

For 24 years, scientific, government, industry, and university
representatives have been meeting to discuss policies, programs and
technologies for cleaning up radioactive waste from weapons
production, medical uses, industry and power plants. And a lot of
progress has been made. Don't miss this chance to meet one-on-one
with some of those experts and decision-makers. Come hear from your
best sources, the latest on: what happened to good science;
privatization in practice; the status of states= compacts for
low-level radiation waste disposal; and the latest on communicating
the issues, environmental justice and advisory boards.
