GLCHPS Meeting 2-10-99
The Great Lakes Chapter of the Health Physics Society is holding a joint
meeting with the American Nuclear Society on Wednesday, February 10, 1999,
at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan State
University.
The speaker will be Dr. Henry Blosser, Distinguished Professor, Dept. of
Physics and Astronomy, Michigan State University. Dr. Blosser is also an
Adjunct Professor, Dept of Oncology, Wayne State University, and on the
medical staff at the Radiation Oncology Center at Harper-Grace Hospitals.
His areas of expertise are the design/development of advanced particle
accelerator systems; design of superconducting magnets for cyclotrons and
other applications; design of apparatus for nuclear physics research; and
design of accelerators for oncology therapy.
Dr. Blosser's talk will be ""Accelerators for Cancer Therapy".
Meeting schedule will be:
Executive Council Business Meeting: 5:00 P.M.
Registration and Socialization 5:30 P.M.
Dinner 6:00 P.M.
Lecture and Tour 7:00 P.M.
Dinner will be a buffet with Chicken St. Simmons and Boston Baked Scrod,
and will include rice, potatoes, salad vegetable, roll and butter, dessert
and beverage.
Cost is $20.00 for members and $10.00 for students
