RE: Calculator for the ABHP Examination

In the "for what it's worth" category....

I took my standard HP 48 and a backup HP 11C with me to take the exam. I
discovered that the HP 48 was not allowed, sending me into a slight panic
because it was the calculator I knew best. However, my trusty HP 11C stood
me in good stead and did the job for both parts of the exam. I didn't need
anything fancy, and for the math that I did, even the HP 11C was overkill.
So I would echo previous recommendations to get something simple (that
you'll be allowed to use) and use it almost exclusively for a few months
prior to the exam so you can crank through the problems without hunting for
the right function keys. Anything too complex could turn out to be more of
a distraction than a help.
