i recently had an extended telephone conversation with the contact
person listed in the EPA's ANPR "Approach to Reinventing Regulations on
Storing Mixed Low-Level Radioactive Waste."  She advised me that the
background information on this topic is NOT at the web site listed in
the ANPR in the Federal Register.  Instead it is at 
http:www.epa.gov/radiation/mixed-waste
so, if any of you  are trying to look into this matter,  i recommend
that web site.

the Health Physics Society's Legislation and Regulation Committee is
working on a response to this ANPR and committee chair Jim Tripodes has
asked me to spearhead the draft response preparation.  Any input you
have is welcomed.
