STCHPS Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the South Texas Chapter, Health Physics Society 
will be held Sat, 05/01/99, at The Commons, J. J. Pickle Rsrch Ctr, 
UTx.  The program will include (1) Student Research Presentations (2) 
a luncheon presentation by The Honorable Warren Chisum, Chair, Texas 
House of Representatives (discussing the status of bills being con- 
sidered by the Texas Legislature affecting regulation of radiation 
and radioactive waste), and (3) a tour of the Nuc Eng Testing 
Laboratory (reactor, accelerator and nuclear chemistry laboratory).

 1:30-12:30 Lunch and Presentation by Representative Chisum
12:30- 3:00 Student Research Presentations
 3:00- 4:30 Tour of NETL 
 4:30- 5:00 Business Meeting
A block of rooms has been reserved at La Quinta Inn & Suites-Austin 
MoPac [(512) 832-2121 or 1-800-687-6667] for Fri, 04/30/99, and 
Sat, 05/01/99, until 04/16/99, under the name "South Texas Chapter 
Health Physics Society."  Room rates will be $79 per night, sgl or 
dbl occupancy.  Pre-registration fees (add $10 for walk-in regis- 
trations): STC Member (tech session and lunch) - $25; STC Member 
(tech session only) - $15; Non-STC Member (tech session and lunch) - 
$40; Non-STC Member (tech session only) - $30; Student not giving a 
presentation (tech session & lunch) - $10. Mail registration forms &
