RADIATION TECHNICIAN POSITION AT BECHTEL NEVADA



	SENIOR TECHNICIAN

Bechtel Nevada, contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy, has an
immediate opening for a Senior Technician to serve as an emergency
response team member and deploy on exercises and real-world
deployments.  Primary responsibilities include: maintaining radiation
detection systems, with emphasis on monitoring and sampling
instruments; updating equipment records; assisting with the development
of laboratory and field procedures; and developing and implementing
equipment load plans.

Candidates should possess an AA degree in Radiation Technology,
Electronic Technology, or equivalent training and experience plus an
additional 4 years of experience.  Ability to troubleshoot, calibrate, and
operate radiation detection systems, primarily neutron and gamma-ray
detection systems with an emphasis on environmental monitoring
systems.  Experience with in-field radiation measurements and sample
collection.  Experience in sample preparation is desirable.  Ability to
assist in the development and coordination of a maintenance training
program.  Ability to assist in the development and tracking of test
standards.  Ability to coordinate the deployment of FRMAC and NEST
assets during missions, exercises, and training events.  Familiarity with
PC environments and computer software.  Ability to work from drawings
and schematics and communicate with scientists and engineers.  On
short notice the ability to deploy on domestic and overseas missions. 
Ability to travel and work non-standard hours on short notice.  MUST BE
A U.S. CITIZEN AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A GOVERNMENT
SECURITY CLEARANCE.
