According to my Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene text  UV-C  and UV-b cause photokeratitis.  UV-B At causes cataracts around 300 nm.  UV-B and UV-C both cause skin cancer. However, UV-C is not included in outdoor exposures because it is absorbed by oxygen in the atmosphere.  UV-A  causes thermal skin burns.  Hope this helps answer your question.

A question for those knowledgable about non-ionizing radiation:

Is it accurate to say that exposure to just one UV ray(A,B orC, I don't recall which is the bad guy) can produce permanent mutations in a cell's genetic molecules?
