Senior Scientist to support drafts of the license application for the Yucca
Mountain Project. The actual work location is in the North Western suburbs of

POSITION TITLE: Senior Scientist

SALARY LEVEL: 41
SALARY RANGE: $53,000-$71,000 (midpoint)
LOCATION: Las Vegas, Nevada (Summerlin location)
DESCRIPTION:Provides development and preparation support for drafts of the
License Application for theYucca Mountain Project. Develops
radiation protection presence in license application
preparation to ensure design and regulatory areas
incorporate radiation safety. Emphasis will be on
regulatory requirements and guidance, consensus standards,
and good practices to achieve protection of the public,
workers, and the environment. Interacts with design and
regulatory licensing functions, and combine with radiation
protection program development to achieve proper results.
Nuclear materials safeguards will also be addressed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of directly relevant
experience and a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a
related technical field (such as Health Physics). Knowledge
of and familiarity with NRC regulations, guides, and ALARA
approach are necessary. Excellent written and verbal skills
are required.
