Import of Uranium / Thorium Ore Samples & Cores

Dear Radsafers:

      What rules apply to import of unprocessed natural rock samples or cores 
that contain ores of uranium or thorium?  I'm anticipating collection of 
several cores overseas which will contain about 0.25% U3O8.  I'll be 
transporting the cores in PVC pipe, sealed at both ends.  Typical weight for 
each core would be 10kg.
