SUBJECT:     PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES GRETA DICUS CHAIR OF THE NUCLEAR 
REGULATORY COMMISSION


Today President Clinton announced his intention to designate Greta Dicus 
of Arkansas, Chair of
the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), effective July 1, 1999.

Greta Dicus has served on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission since 1996.
