Concerning Ken Smith's inquiry into
safety precautions in Kazakhstan, this
area contains one of the former USSR's
nuclear test sites--Semipalatinsk Test
Site (STS).  There were over 100
above-ground nuclear tests, as well as
over 300 underground nuclear test
