Meeting of the Baltimore Washington Chapter of the HPS



Meeting of the Baltimore-Washington Chapter of the HPS (BWCPS):

If you are in the Washington DC/Virginia/Maryland area on Sept. 21, 1999, please
join the BWCHPS for our first meeting of the 1999-2000 year.  The BWCHPS is
pleased to have Mr. Kelly Crooks as our featured speaker on Tuesday, September
21,1999.  Mr. Crooks will be visiting us from Rock Island, Illinois to speak to
us about the "Department of Defense Radiation Waste Disposal Program."
(Editor's note:  Ha, so you think you've got it tough!:)

Mr. Crooks  has been a Health Physicist with the U.S. Army, his last eight in
the Army's Radioactive Waste Disposal Office. His current position is Leader of
the Operations Team, which manages the removal, processing and disposal of the
Army's low-level radioactive and mixed waste, and performs the same functions
for the other military services, excluding the nuclear Navy.  

Date:     Tuesday, September 21, 1999.

Time:     
6:00 - 7:00 pm, Social Hour with cash bar
7:00 - 8:00 pm, Mexican Buffet Dinner:  Chicken in tortilla crepes, burrito
enchiladas, mexican salad (lettuce, black beans, tomato, onion, cheddar, spicy
French dressing) Spanish rice, corn, cornbread, coffee/tea, and dessert. Yummy!
                               		(Cost $20 for Members/ $25 for
Non-members).
8:00 pm, Speaker, Mr. Kelly Crooks

Location:  Uniformed Services University Hospital of the Health Sciences
(USUHS), Bethesda Naval Medical Center Complex.  Call for directions.  Please
park in the underground parking garage under the facility. The B building
ellvator will take you to the first floor.

Reservations:   Please email dcase@nih.gov or call 202-518-7158 and leave you
name, telephone number, and the
names of anyone else in your party.  If you phone, please speak slowly and
distinctly. Reservation cut-off is noon FRIDAY, September 17; however, please
make your reservations as soon as possible so we can properly prepare for your
hunger and comfort level.  Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours
prior to the dinner or you may be required to pay for the meal.
                
NOTE:  Due to security requirements, anybody entering the USHHS facility after
7:00 pm will be required to present a photo identification and sign in.
