RPHP (Jay Gould) STAR (Helen Caldicott)

Oct. 27

Followup to Eric Dennison's followup posting of Oct. 25 about the Radiation
and Public Health Program (RPHP) and Standing for the Truth About Radiation
(STAR).

RPHP's URL is <http://www.radiation.org/index.html>.

Its founder is Jay M. Gould whose book "The Enemy Within -- The High Cost
of Living Near Nuclear Reactors" was reviewed in Health Physics [71(6):975;
12-96] by Dade W. Moeller and Steven E. Merwin.

Gould and co-author B. A. Goldman wrote "Deadly Deceit: Low Level
Radiation, High Level Cover Up," reviewed in Health Physics [59(6):943;
12-90] by William R. Hendee.

Gould is the one who is collecting baby teeth and testing them for Sr90.

According to the RPHP web page, "RPHP has received grants for the Baby
Teeth Study from The Louis and Harold Price Foundation and The Alida R.
Messinger Charitable Lead Trust, No.2, a Rockefeller Family Trust Fund."

I wasn't able to find anything via AltaVista about STAR. It's a little
dated, but there is an interesting and revealing critique of Helen
Caldicott in "The War Against the Atom," by Samuel McCracken; Basic Books,
1982; pp. 113-16.
