Another good resource is a paper written by M.S.S. Murphy titled "Shape and
Average Energy of Beta-Particle Spectra", which was published in the
International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1971, Vol.22,
pp.111-124.  Through it is a little theoretical, it may be of some help.
