RE: Savanna River Suit Replacement

At the Environmental Restoration Contract (ERC) we performed a search of
available alternatives to the Savannah River suit, and the Rock Flats Suit,
as both were expensive. We also use suits only once, during D&D of a very
contaminated plutonium facility. We identified several alternatives,
including a suit essentially made to order. All identified alternatives are
positive-pressure suits with very high protection factors (up to a million
PF), and all are relatively cheap.

If you would like some more information on the identified suits, contact Bob
Hobbs at (509) 373-7383 or BJHobbs@BHI-erc.com.

Subject: Savhanna River Suit Replacement

Colleagues,
We have been using the Savannah River Suit during the performance of wet
work at our facility (e. g. rod drive maintenance). We have found that
the cost per suit is prohibitive (approx $1000/suit...we only use a suit
once). We would appreciate any input from anyone who knows of a
suitable and economical replacement for these suits. Please post your
responses to Radsafe.

Sincerely,
