DandD

Folks:

Someone had asked about DandD ... just received some training on it
from Ralph Cady, a hydrogeologist from NRC. Some point he made were:

1. Version 1 has some bugs.

2. The only viable models in Version 1 are for building occupancy and
residential scenarios.

3. Version 2 (less bugs & stochastic) will be out Summer '00.

4. DandD (referred to as "Dandy") is designed for screening (using
generic scenarios and default parameters) for demonstrating compli-
ance with 10 CFR 20 Subpart E. More restrictive screening is allowed
by modification of scenarios by changing or eliminating pathways and
input of site-specific parameters. DandD was not designed and is not
intended for use in establishing cleanup levels.

Ralph "on-the-road-a-lot" Cady (rec2@nrc.gov) can talk about the
mechanics of the software. He emphasized, however, that "guidance"
on the application of the software is being developed by NRC's NMSS.
