RAF Crew Eject from Jet Before Crash

LONDON (AP) - Two Royal Air Force pilots ejected from their Tornado
jet during a training exercise Wednesday, minutes before their plane
crashed in the sea near a nuclear power station.

The crew were rescued by an RAF helicopter in a village near Torness,
East Lothian, and taken to a nearby hospital for medical tests. Both
appeared to be in stable condition, an RAF spokeswoman said.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the plane crash about half a mile from
shore on the north side of the power station, said Derek Sinclair, a
member of the team searching for plane wreckage.

The search for the wreckage is to resume Thursday.
