Position:  Radiation Safety Officer

Description:  Genentech is a pace-setting international biotechnology
company that discovers, develops, manufactures and markets
pharmaceuticals for significant unmet medical needs.  With six marketed
products and a rich product pipeline, we are seeking a Radiation Safety
Officer who will excel in our unique and stimulating environment.

Working in our Environment Health and Safety Department, you will
administer all aspects of the radiation safety program.  You will also
be responsible for maintaining the radioactive materials license and all
internal permits, supervising the radioactive waste, contamination
monitoring, inventory and dosimetry programs.  You will provide
technical support in radiation safety, industrial hygiene and
environmental programs and report any hazardous situations resulting
from ionizing radiation exposure that may impact individuals' health and
safety.

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. in Physical or Biological
Sciences with 8 - 10 years experience in radiation safety.  A thorough
understanding of radiation safety regulations and licensing procedures
along with the ability to coordinate projects and update procedures will
be required.
